No matter who you are, we can all agree that weekends are the best time of the week, right? When we can finally switch off from putting on our Totally Real Working Faces and return to the Goblins that we know that we really are. No more customer service voices. No more professionalism. Just time to be completely and totally unhinged and do some dumb shit with our friends. Cheap games with endless amounts of replayability are key in larger friend groups, which is why games like PEAK and REPO still command the Steam Charts, and find their way back into our weekend rotation even after all this time.
But now, a few new challengers have entered the Sloppiest Arena. Burgle Supply Company and Gamble With Your Friends have become staples of our weekend gaming sessions already, and for good reason. Burgle Supply Company takes the idea of heists and turns it on its head. Gamble With Your Friends, on the other hand, helps you realize which of your friends you should never take to the casino with you in real life. They're both a blast, even if they're on completely different ends of the ever-evolving Friendslop Spectrum, as I like to call it.

Burgle Supply Company Is a Lethal-Like With a Few Extra Gimmicks up It’s Extremely Long Sleeves
I don't care how many times I watch my friends die at the hands of some Eldritch-level horror. It's never going to lose its luster. Games like Lethal Company and REPO made headlines for many different reasons. They were some of the first true "friendslop" games that came out, and there have been many games that have tried to ride on the wave of their success. Some are genuinely great, like Burgle Supply Company, while others have failed to see what makes these games special. Burgle Supply Company knows that the fun of friendslop doesn't come from the most polished experience out there. It comes from those moments that you can't stop talking about, like getting steamrolled by a massive, muscular anthropomorphous dog creature while you're trying to steal a table full of snacks.
Burgle Supply Company does a lot of things right. The vibes? Impeccable. The goofiness levels? Off the charts, man. There's also a surprising amount of strategy needed to find the perfect mix of masks to get the most profit possible. Things you steal during a heist can randomly turn up next round as a new mask, so you and your merry band of Piggy Bank-headed creeps can smash and steal as much as possible. Oh yeah, and everybody has extendo-arms for whatever reason, making things even sillier than you could have ever imagined.
The Heists Are Genuinely Fun, Though
As with many games of the same DNA, you start in a hub. You create your character, making them as horrifying or beautiful as you'd like them to be. After grabbing a mask and selecting a mission, it's time to embark on whatever adventure you have selected. From raiding houses to massively oversized bathrooms, the level design in Burgle Supply Company is genuinely great. Rather than relying on randomized seeds, you'll be thrown into meticulously hand-crafted levels. These levels are packed with plenty of snaggable items, and you'll need to get in and out as fast as possible. But don't make too much noise, or THEY will get you.
They, in this situation, are the plethora of creepy-crawlies that litter the world. From goldfish that walk on land to the aforementioned "Good Boy" that hunts you down once your noise meter hits critical mass, Burgle Supply Company isn't fucking around. These creatures will hunt you down and make your life a living hell until you can extract, with or without your whole team. But the goofiness meter is completely off the charts the entire time you're playing.

Each of the Missions in Burgle Supply Company Will Push Your Skills and Your Friendships to the Max
While my friend group and I have been diving into Burgle Supply Company for the past few weekends, we still have many missions to complete. Unfortunately for all of us, if there is an option quest that needs to be done? We're going to waste our time and our lives trying to complete them all. Seeing as these missions are completely random each time you go into a level, you never know what you're going to need to find. Sometimes, it's something simple, like finding items that are listed as "Fragile". Other times, you'll need to find a very specific item, and you'll need to get it back to the truck without breaking it. Or getting your face broken in the process. It's a ton of fun, regardless, and I'm very intrigued to see where else we end up getting sent on our burglin' journey.
The extendo-arms, masks, and other gimmicks make it a worthwhile look for anyone searching for a new weekend escape plan. The heists are goofy. Vibes are immaculate. And most importantly, it's surprisingly well-polished for a game in the genre. But when it does glitch out? That's when those fantastic memories that you think about for years to come happen. If you've been searching for something to scratch that "steal shit and evacuate" itch you have, look no further. This one is for you.

Sell Your Body Parts and Get Money to Gamble With Your Friends
On the opposite side of the spectrum, we've got Gamble With Your Friends. Do you love casinos? Do you have friends? What about 5 minutes or so of free time? Then you're set. Grab your cash and get in the car; we have debauchery to dive into. As the name suggests, Gamble With Your Friends is all about gambling with your friends. But in the world of Friendslop, that isn't enough. You have 5 minutes to earn as much money as possible. Make your quota? Move on to the next day. Don't make your quota? Get taken out back and shot in the head. The stakes are high, but not as high as that jackpot on the slot machine.
The idea is simple, and that's usually when these types of games succeed the most. But a 5-minute timer makes every second count, and when you're down a couple thousand with less than a minute to go? That's when shit hits the fan, and those last-second bets really matter. Yes, there is character customization. Yes, there is debauchery to be had. But most importantly? You can sell your body parts, or knock out a friend and throw them in the machine to steal their mouth, body, or one of their eyes. It's brilliant, and a great way to set yourself apart from the pack.
If You Sell a Body Part, Expect Things to Get Silly
There are plenty of games to lose all of your money to. There's stuff like Plinko, Blackjack, Duck Races, and tons of different games in between. Yes, you can also cheat your way through them to get the maximum payout, especially in games like Craps. But I'm not here to talk about the gambling. No, no. I'm here to talk about selling your body parts to get extra money, and what happens if you do. If you sell an eyeball for extra tickets, you'll only be able to see out of one of them. A black haze will overtake the second half of your screen. Sell your mouth, and your friends won't be able to understand a word you say. But if you sell your body (not in that way, perv), that's when shit goes south.
When you sell your body, you just become a sentient head. There were multiple times that I was reduced to nothing more than an eyeball, rolling around on the floor, and trying my hand at games like Blackjack. It's incredibly silly, sounding like Kenny from South Park while screaming that you just hit it big, and hearing your friend erupt into laughter. That's what makes this game special. Well, that, and nothing feels better than hitting the biggest jackpot on the floor and bringing yourself out of the red at the last moment possible.

I Do Hope We Get an Unlimited Mode in the Future
If there's one thing that I can find wrong with Gamble With Your Friends, it's the inclusion of an Unlimited Mode. I don't want unlimited money or anything like that. I just want the option to dive in with my friends and see everything that GWYF has to offer. The five-minute timer keeps things feeling intense, that's for sure. But I also want to spend some extra time playing Plinko, for the love of all things Holy. That, and I want to lose my entire life savings to the Duck Races at my own pace. Is that asking for too much?
Either way, it doesn't matter what kind of game you're in the mood for. Both Burgle Supply Company and Gamble With Your Friends offer some of the most intense, wild, and crazy moments that you're going to come across in the entire Friendslop genre. These games just keep getting bigger, bolder, and better, and I can't wait to see more of them jump into my Steam library over the coming months. But until then? I'm going to steal some more shit, and I'm going to gamble my life away, and there's nothing you can do to stop me. I've learned that as I rolled around as a sentient head on a dirty Casino floor. I'm unstoppable when Blackjack is around, baby.
